DipWSET and Master of Wine candidate
I come from the pharmaceutical industry. I used to run a well-known pharmacy in the center of Albacete until, in 2010, wine crossed my path.
My journey into the world of wine began when I discovered that the vineyards on a family-owned property—known for producing the best Garnacha Tintorera grapes in the area—were being used to blend into large tanks for mass-market wine.
That realization pushed me to start vinifying the grapes from these vineyards, with a commitment to showcasing the quality of the fruit and the unique identity of a very special terroir.
The beginnings were tough but exciting—I started making wine in my home garage, with help from family and a few local producers.
Since then, I’ve been on a path of growth, always seeking new regions with untapped potential, driven by a commitment to making exceptional wines with a personal touch.
And so, my learning journey continued.
Over the years, I’ve delved deeper into my calling, exploring new regions where I see potential, always committed to crafting exceptional wines with a unique character.
My approach to wine is based on three pillars: unique vineyards, sustainable winemaking, and personal interpretation.
I always seek out distinctive vineyards—plots with their own identity and great potential.
Often, these are ancient vineyards that have been neglected or mistreated to the point of dying. I work to recover and restore them, giving them the attention and recognition they’ve long deserved.
I aim to intervene as little as possible and always in the most respectful way. I avoid chemicals and artificial additives, but use common sense to ensure the wine truly reflects its grape variety, region, and typicity.
At the same time, I bring in my own interpretation, drawing inspiration from local culture to create new ways of making wine.
